Supported Employment Program

The Arc of Harrison County is a non-profit tax exempt, membership organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. The board meets monthly and sets
association policy, goals and direction. It is comprised of parents of disabled persons, professionals and concerned citizens with various business backgrounds.

For the last 50 years, The Arc has been present in Harrison County. In 1985, the Arc became the first provider of Supported Employment services for people with development disabilities in West Virginia. Until then, the only vocational services were sheltered workshops.

the Arc of Harrison County is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to live up to their full potential.

The Arc's Vocational Employment Program believes all people have the right to participate in the economic and social life of the community to the extent desired, plan and developed careers as they choose.
