Employment Program
The Arc of Harrison County is a
non-profit tax exempt, membership o rganization
governed by a volunteer board of directors. The
board meets monthly and sets
association policy,
goals and direction. It is comprised of parents
of disabled persons, professionals and concerned
citizens with various business backgrounds.
For the last 50 years, The Arc has been present
in Harrison County. In 1985, the Arc became the
first provider of Supported Employment services
for people with development disabilities in West
Virginia. Until then, the only vocational
services were sheltered workshops.
the Arc of Harrison County is dedicated to
empowering individuals with disabilities to live
up to their full potential.
The Arc's Vocational Employment Program believes
all people have the right to participate in the
economic and social life of the community to the
extent desired, plan and developed careers as
they choose.
